Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Zunheboto conducted field day and demonstration programme on January 6 and 7 at Sukhalu village and Yemishe village, Zunheboto respectively.
At Sukhalu village, demonstration on potato cultivation was conducted by ATM Zunheboto block Lily Tungoe, wherein she highlighted the climate and soil, varieties, field preparation, propagation, spacing, timely planting, irrigation, etc for higher yield and better quality of potato.
Field day on practices of jhum cultivation was conducted by BTM Chubatsur Jamir as resource person. She spoke on the present status of jhum field in Zunheboto and highlighted different practical soil conservation measures that the farmers can adopt.
Altogether 12 farmers participated. ATM, Zunheboto block, K. Aito Chophi and ATM Akuluto block, Moanenla Jamir also took part in the program.
The overall program was conducted by BTM Zunheboto block.
Meanwhile, at Yemishe village with the initiation of BTM Chubatsur Jamir, demonstration on maize and ginger cultivation was conducted at by ATM Lily Tungoe as resource person. 15 farmers participated and were taught soil requirement, climate, plantation, seed treatment, spacing, weeding, etc.
