AICC state co-ordinator visits state

All India Congress Committee (AICC) State co-ordinator, in charge Nagaland, Pradyut Bordoloi held a meeting with NPCC on January 9 at Congress Bhavan, Dimapur.
Addressing the meeting, Bordoloi said that it was the responsibility of the Congress to highlight the ill effects of demonetization and added that the party was mobilizing all its units across the nation to create awareness in this regard.
He said miseries of the common man because of demonetization have only continued to increase and therefore called upon NPCC to build awareness on the “dictatorial decision” of prime minister Narendra Modi which, he said, infringes upon the basic fundamental rights of the people.
He further read out list of demands put forth by AICC National vice president Rahul Gandhi, to mitigate the ill effects of demonetization on the nation.
NPCC president K. Therie also said that demonetization or cashless economy was not practical and unacceptable to a rural economy like Nagaland since more than 90% of the people were without bank accounts.
Therie said the senseless act of demonetization has paralysed the vibrant economy, as there was no infrastructure to support a digital economy.
Meanwhile, the meeting resolved to; demand from PM Narendra Modi to answer the charges on the demonetization white paper brought out by AICC; form district level Implementation Committees to highlight the negative impacts of demonetization across the state; to extend solidarity with the people across the country badly affected by the impacts of demonetization.
