IDAN unveils transformative CSR projects in Dmu, Chümou

Led by the chairman of IDAN & advisor to chief minister of Nagaland, Abu Metha, two projects were inaugurated at Rhododendron Hall, Chümoukedima. Speaking during the joint inaugural as special guest, Metha highlighted the significance of these initiatives as catalysts for societal upliftment.


Metha emphasized that the Sulabh Public Toilet Complex at District Hospital Dimapur and the Solar Street Lights in Sovima Village and Chümoukedima are models for future CSR endeavours. He assured transparency, pledging to thwart malpractices and ensured IDAN’s credibility for the future incoming projects which may be taken as collaborators.


Disclosing that the project locations were selected through a rigorous process, involving proposals and pitches from applicants as pioneering projects, Metha underscored the intent to illuminate even the remotest areas, making these projects a beacon of hope. Addressing past trust issues, he positioned this venture as pivotal in regaining public confidence and attracting investors.


Connecting the CSR projects to the burgeoning ecotourism trend, Metha announced the introductory phase of Nagaland Tourism Connect Scheme. He urged other CSR entities to collaborate, stressing that collective efforts can drive impactful change.
Project Highlights:


The Sulabh Toilet Complex, a collaborative effort with Boeing and Sulabh International, provided 14 units, of which 10 was for public use at District Hospital Dimapur. Simultaneously, the Solar Street Lighting Project illuminated Chümoukedima and Sovima with 28 and 56 solar lights, respectively, completed in a swift 20-day period.


Further enriching the initiative, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SBI for the Nagaland Tourism Connect Scheme was inked between IDAN by the chairman and Deputy General Manager, Jorhat, Surabhi Bhattacharya.


The scheme, supported by the government and banks, empowers local entrepreneurs with premium taxis, promoting sustainable tourism and economic empowerment. The first phase will be granted to 30 beneficiaries, for which till the filing of this report, 18 applicants have signed up for the scheme.


At the inaugural of the joint projects, Metha hinted at upcoming transformative ventures yet to be unveiled towards sustainable future for Nagaland.
