150 women attend SAIL programme

In a collaborative initiative, under the theme, “Uplifting Women Street Vendors”, The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) and Capri Global Capital Limited organised a “Specialized Accelerated Intensive Learning Program (SAIL)” on November 29.

The programme was attended by over 150 women in Nagaland and Assam.
The program’s primary focus was to enhance financial literacy among women vendors, covering crucial aspects such as financial planning, budgeting, record maintenance, and digital literacy. The initiative includes specialized training on online banking systems and social media platforms, providing these entrepreneurs with essential tools for success.

The initiative has been carried out in various parts of North East India, with recent sessions in Phek, Wokha, Enhulumi Village, Khonoma Village, and Diphu Town, with over 250 women attendees.

Wokha Town witnessed a significant milestone as five women vendors received Zero Interest Loans, contributing to the 1000+ women in Nagaland and Manipur benefitting from this unique financial service.

The Uplifting Women Street Vendors Program, initiated in October 2017, was a flagship endeavor of tEA. With a focus on training, mentorship, legal services, and market linkages, the program has already impacted 7000 women vendors in Nagaland, Manipur, and Assam with an expansion aim to expand its reach to neighboring states in the coming year.

The paradigm shift in empowering women in the entrepreneurial landscape, fostering economic sustainability and community growth has a goal plan to impact 10,000 women street vendors by 2024.
