State JDU unit warns erring courier companies

Taking note of different courier companies not delivering ordered products at the door steps of consumers, the Janata Dal United (JDU) Nagaland state unit has warned those responsible courier companies operating in various parts of the state, especially in the interior areas, to “immediately desist from such unscrupulous activities.”

In a press release, JDU Nagaland state unit general secretary Imsumongba Pongen stated that currently almost all courier companies, either private or India Post, collect service charge including costs of transportation for delivering goods till the door steps of the customers. JDU state unit said that the consumers of the courier services, therefore, have the right to have their ordered products delivered at the door steps.

However, JDU state unit said different courier companies operating in Nagaland were not delivering at the door steps but call up the customers to collect the parcels from the courier offices causing hardships to the consumers.

It maintained that different courier service agents in Nagaland were “taking advantage of the ignorance of the consumers” who spend their precious time to go the courier agents’ office to collect their ordered products.

JDU unit affirmed to expose such courier agencies and initiate legal action against such erring courier companies. JDU has also invited the consumers to approach its public grievances auditory for any issue relating the denial of services by any courier agencies in Nagaland.
