
Razeba Students’ Union (RSU) held its 33rd general session on December 30 at Zelome Village under the theme “Igniting Minds, Ensuring Future,” with director, Higher Education Nagaland, I. Alempokba, as chief guest.
In his speech, Alempokba advised the Razeba students to catch up with the rest of the world in the field of education. He said that an IAS should be produced from the community and encouraged the students to give their best and excel in any field they choose. Apart from education and academic pursuits, the chief guest also stressed on the importance of skills through which one can earn a livelihood even without being highly qualified.
He also advised the students not to target only government jobs but to focus in private sector as well. Alempokba further challenged the students to broaden their mindset; to break away from the ‘backward’ tag and advised the students inculcate the habit of reading books.
He also emphasised on the importance of preserving one’s culture. Earlier the programme was chaired by Vipany Krome. Sapulu Krocha and Siivilu Venuh were the comperes on the event. Rev.Fr. Patrick Neikhalo Rume invoked God’s blessings while welcome address was delivered by Zelome VCC, Zunyo Zholia. Presidential address was rendered by by Tho-o Shupao. Special songs by Dovine Venuh and Khrurhiilu Rhi, cultural dance by Zelome Youth society were the highlights of the function. Later, vote of thanks was said by Vitulu Domeh and benediction by TBC pastor Neingulie Leho.
Meanwhile, the new team of office bearers headed by Medovi Rhi as president was dedicated by ZBC pastor, Dizii Shupao.
