Special national integration camp underway

Special National Integration camp (SNIC) got underway at Patkai Christian College (PCC) Dimapur from January 4, which would culminate on January 15. 600 National Cadet Corps cadets from different parts of the country would be part of the SNIC including 110 cadets from the North East region.
The camp is aimed at fostering the spirit of unity among the cadets, cutting across regional, religious, linguistic and cultural barriers, and provide them an opportunity to learn from each other`s culture  and traditions. Various programs showcasing knowledge of Indian customs and traditional history of seven sisters, cultural heritage and economic development of India would be conducted in order to promote closer understanding and integration among cadets of different states.
Training programs such as drill, sports and adventure activities like trekking as well as extracurricular activities like cultural programs, declamation and debate would also be a part of the camp.
Selected cadets who excel in various activities would also get to represent their states and the country in national level camps as well as on youth exchange programs.
Currently NCC Group Headquarter, Kohima on behalf of NER Directorate, Shillong is hosting the SNIC Nagaland at Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), Chumukedima, Dimapur.
