NPF distributes 20 tickets for ULB elections in Wokha

NPF party has issued 20 party tickets for Wokha Town Council (WTC) and Bhandari Town Council (BTC) for the ensuing ULB elections at an impressive ticket distribution and dedication ceremony here at NPF Wokha division office, Wokha town on January 3.
Of the 20 tickets, 12 for WTC (out of which 5 candidates were women) and 8 for BTC (out of which 2 candidates were women).
Speaking on the occasion, former agriculture minister Dr Chumben Murry asserted that notwithstanding internal turmoil in the party, the leadership of party president Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu and chief minister T.R. Zeliang would sustain even in the next general election. Dr Murry also asserted that NPF was the largest regional political party in the Northeast and that NPF had no high-command structure unlike other parties. Further,  Dr Murry told the candidates  that their individual charisma and popularity would also go a long way towards determining their respective successes. NPF central vice president Hachio Patton congratulated the selected candidates and also advised them to work hard and maintain party loyalty. He also reminded the candidates of the importance of teamwork in achieving their goals. NPF central general secretary Renbomo Kikon advised the selected candidates to be dedicated all-round party workers in order to help the party move forward. Kikon also distributed NPF party constitution and flags to the selected candidates.
NPF Wokha division president P. Mhonthung Patton administered pledge and distributed the party tickets to the selected candidates. 
Earlier, Wokha Town Baptist Church pastor Rev. Sulumo Ezung dedicated the selected candidates.  NPF Wokha division women wing president, 38 A/C NPF president, 40 A/C NPF president, and selected candidates of WTC and BTC also delivered short speeches. Earlier, the programme started with an invocation by NPF Wokha division general secretary Chophathung Kikon.
