Jakhama Students’ Union (JSU) golden jubilee celebration under the theme, “envisioning a competitive future” concluded on December 28 at Jakhama, wherein it had adopted six resolutions.
A joint press note by JSU president Kelethuzo Yosa, convenor jubilee planning committee Zavishio Khieya and secretary Cholzo Sophie stated that JSU had adopted six resolutions during the conclusion of its golden jubilee celebration.
It resolved to make Jakhama become the cleanest village by 2030, wherein the villagers had to improve their drainage system and waste management.
In this regard, JSU would rigorously continue cleanliness drive and plantation and inculcate civic sense amongst the villagers. It resolved to protect the environment.
It also stated that Jakhama would be an organic village. Its fourth resolution stated that JSU would re-affirm to support the village council resolution for total liquor prohibition in the village.
JSU would also make an appeal to the village council to totally ban hunting. JSU also resolved that in order to uplift the less privileged and to build the foundation of the generations, the JSU Educational Trust had been launched during the golden jubilee and would continue to help and encourage the students to do better in their studies and career.
