A police truck rammed into road divider and damaged a streetlight post near City Square, Chümoukdeima, around 12:30 pm on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses at the scene claimed that the truck was over speeding at the time of the accident. Incidentally, chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, who was en route to the inauguration of OBASS Guest House, crossed the site minutes after the accident took place.
Meanwhile, DCP Crime and PRO informed this reporter that a case had been registered and further investigation into the incident was currently underway.
