Wokha Winter Fiesta culminates

The final event of the 7 days Wokha Winter Fiesta- Music Eco Tourism 2023 under the theme, “Explore, Discover and Grow” culminated with Minister for Education and Tourism Temjen Imna Along Lkr, as the chief guest.


The minster was accompanied by Advisor for Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan, and also by the secretary, director and colleagues of Tourism Department along with host of other government officials from the district besides the party officials from NDPP party.


In his keynote address, the minister said “Doyang doesn’t belong to the Lothas alone, but to the Nagas as a whole and that every Naga should be proud of this beautiful place called Doyang”.


Along appealed the landowners not to feel deprived because of the portion of land that have been claimed by the dam but said they should rather focus on the positive aspects like the abundance of electricity and the abundance of fishes besides providing such a picturesque landscape. He also stressed on the high availability of organic food and vegetable which can cater to the demand of the entire state and not just the district.

The chief guest further stressed on the importance of one Nagaland and not to make small tribal and clan issues their agenda but rather they should make their agenda on “One Nagaland, Strong Nagaland”.


Yanthan, in his greetings stressed on the need to focus on how to put on their best of behaviour and hospitality and not just on monetary gain so that they may provide a welcoming environment to every visitor that comes to visit from all walks of life. He also applauded the selfless sacrifices and effort of the Team Metamorphosis in promoting their land and culture to open up a window of opportunity for all stakeholders involved.


Earlier during the day, various events and competition were held like tug of war, swimming competition, folk song and many more. In the closing event chaired by Nyanbemo A Tsopoe, invocation was offered by pastor Chumdemo Patton of Old Riphyim Baptist Church, greetings were delivered by president Land Owner’s Union, Rhanbemo Odyuo and Gen. Secy. Lotha Hoho, Tsubon. Akhumrenla Ozukhum mesmerized the gathering with a special number. The closing remarks was delivered by Thungchibemo Humtsoe.
