‘We Care-V’, a live concert was held on Tuesday at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung organised by the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM), in aid of free coaching class (corpus fund), featuring Ao renowned singers, such as Tiameren Aier, Chubatsur, Tiaren Lusang, Akumsen Lemtur, Sunep Lemtur and Lenen Jamir with Dreamz Unlimited as guest appearance.
Gracing the occasion as the chief host, minister of Rural Development & SIRD, Metsubo Jamir lauded AKM for converting a tragic incident to positive endeavours. He stated that the cause of the concert to aid coaching class (corpus fund) was a noble initiative. Jamir said that education is an integral need of a person but said it should not be solely focussed on government jobs, instead, he urged to focus more on skilling with education, to solve the educated un-employment in the state.
It may be recalled that the first edition of “We Care” was held in 2005 in aid of flood and landslide victims of Mokokchung district. The second edition was held in 2009 in aid of free coaching classes for board examinees, while the third edition was held in 2011 in aid of the revival of Ao Milen, the vernacular daily published by Ao Milen.
Further in 2017, the 4th edition of “We Care” was held in aid of Mokokchung Law College. The comperes of the concert were Limasenla Jamir and Bendangtemsu Ozukum, invocation was offered by MTBA associate pastor and a special song was presented by the Hailinator in formal session.
The programme also featured a raffle draw.
