Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will grace the 50th Anniversary celebration of Phek district on December 21 at Phek town under the theme ‘Transcending in truth.’ On the occasion, short speeches will be delivered by Pochury Hoho President, Chonpa Jurry, Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) President, Veziihii Keyho, MLA Dr Neisatuo Mero, New & Renewable Energy and NSDMA advisor Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe and CAWD & Taxes advisor Kudecho Khamo.
Programme committee convenor and Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu MLA will deliver the welcome address while minister of Power & Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye will propose the vote of thanks at the formal programme.
The celebration will also be marked by cultural exhibition, anniversary feast, fireworks and anniversary fusion.
Meanwhile, Phek DC Kuko Mero has requested all the HoDs under Phek district to attend the celebration as attendance will be compulsorily.
Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) has also extended invitation to the entire community to join the celebration. CPO also appealed to all individuals, groups, and organizations to cooperate and participate wholeheartedly in making the celebration a grand success. It may be noted that Phek district was inaugurated by the then Transport minister N. Theyo on December 21, 1973.
