The 29th general conference of Englan Range Student’s Union (ERSU) under Wokha district was held on December 19 at New Changsu village under the theme, “Excel beyond boundaries”. The conference was graced by member, Nagaland State Human Rights Commission, R. Nzanbemo Lotha as chief guest.
Nzanbemo in his speech, appreciated the contribution made by the citizens from Englan range in all spheres in the progress of Naga society and encouraged the delegates to be an asset in the society. He encouraged the range people to maintain unity, common brotherhood and sense of belonginess in order to move forward.
Nzanbemo also urged the students’ community to lead a self-discipline and virtuous life to be a successful person.
He further reminded the students that success was not created by chance but by hard work and therefore encouraged them to design their future during student life.
Theme speaker of the conference was Sentsuthung Odyuo, Research Scholar from Christ University Bangalore.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by ERSU president, Meribemo Tungoe. Greetings on behalf of the Lotha Student’s Union and Englan Range Village Council Union were delivered by president LSU, Lironthung E. Kithan and ERVCU president, T.Chanbemo and vote of thanks by general secretary of ERSU, Chonbenthung Lotha.
The conference was attended by hundreds of students, village council members, church leaders, elders from the entire Englan range. ERSU has also elected a new office bearers for the next tenure. This was stated in a press release issued by ERSU president, Meribemo Tungoe.
