The state government has announced holiday in all its offices from December 23, 2023 to January 1, 2024 on account of Christmas and New Year. However, Central government and government offices of other states would continue to function normally. Hence, in order to maintain smooth communication, the government stressed ensuring that urgent and time-bound matters/references, specially from the Central government, were attended to promptly by the respective departments, chief secretary J Alam said in a circular. Similarly, all essential services of the state would run smoothly during this period.
All the administrative heads of departments (AHoDs) have been directed to put in place suitable mechanisms for dealing with urgent and time-bound official matters. Stressing that suitable instructions in this regard may be given to the heads of departments (HoDs) concerned of respective departments, the government ordered ensuring that a senior officer was formally assigned this duty and was always available to coordinate with the Centre and the chief secretary’s office during this period. This was stated in an official memo by chief secretary J Alam.
