KASU 48th annual conference concludes

The 48th annual conference of Khaghaboto Area Students Union (KASU) held under theme, “Breaking the Barriers” concluded on January 7 at Hevishe Village. The closing ceremony was graced by Primary Care Physician, Family Health Clinic and Clinical SPA, Dimapur, Dr Kahuka Sema, as guest of honor. Addressing the gathering at the closing ceremony, Dr. Sema shed light on the theme by focusing on “Breaking the barriers in finance and investment”.


Emphasizing the role of money in societal issues, he highlighted that financial matter as the reason for conflicts between nations, communities, and even within families and friendships. He acknowledged the prevailing societal taboo surrounding discussions about money within the Naga community, citing that many refrain from speaking positively about it, even within religious institutions.


Dr. Sema also recognized lack of financial education within the Naga society, particularly regarding investment strategies and encouraged the gathering on practical ways to accumulate wealth and emphasized the importance of setting life goals. “Having a goal or aim in life is essential”, he asserted, underlining the need for individuals to have a clear vision for their financial future.


Earlier, the programme was chaired by Tonoka Ayemi and Livika Ayemi, and invocation by women pastor, Sunito Ghami B/A, Vilika Yepthomi, vote of thanks by Kaboto Yepthomi, KASU and benediction by women Pastor, Ghonivi Ghami, B/A, Jessica Vighoto Swu. Highlights of the closing ceremony included special numbers by Pishikhu Ghami Khiphimi Kughakulu and Shitoi Ghami Kiphimi Kughakulu, while members of KASU carried out display of Cosplay of Biblical characters.
