Swachh Survekshan awards: Nagaland ranks 24th in ‘best-performing states’

Nagaland was ranked 24th in the ‘best-performing states’ category of the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2023. Maharashtra was named the cleanest state in the country. The President of India, Droupadi Murmu conferred Swachh Survekshan Awards 2023 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on Thursday hosted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).


Dimapur was awarded “Clean City within Nagaland” with more than 1 lakh population while Tuensang was awarded “Clean city within Nagaland” with less than 1 lakh population.


However, Nagaland’s ten towns including Aboi, Tizit, Noklak, Shamatore, Seyochung, Chiephobozou, Tening, Tobu, Longkhim and Pungro were ranked in the last 10 of the cleanest city award among 3,970 cities with less than one lakh population.
President Murmu gave away the awards.
