A daylong training on “Scientific cultivation technique of potato” organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Tuensang and sponsored by Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema, Nagaland was held on January 8 at KVK office. A press release by KVK Tuensang stated that during the training,
senior scientist and head of KVK, Tuensang, Dr. Pijush Kanti Biswas spoke on management technologies to tackle the problems faced during potato cultivation. ACTO (Horticulture) Dr. Kerimenla spoke on potato production technique and emphasized on quality production of potato which needs to be taken care of right from the selection of quality planting material (disease free and HYVs) till harvesting and sorting of the produce. The training was attended by 50 participants belonging to women Self Help Groups (SHGs) and co-operative society.
