A three-day North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR)’s academic orientation program “Students Training and Academic Readiness” (STAR) commenced on January 17.
A press release by NEISSR stated that at the programme, special guest, Chakhroma Public Organization (CPO) vice president, Kevichatha Sechu delivered a compelling message, emphasising that a student’s primary focus should be on education. He urged students to grasp opportunities, utilize available resources, and cultivate resourcefulness and also encouraged them to remain resilient in the face of life’s challenges. NEISSR vice principal, Father Lawrence Khing guided students in revisiting the institute’s vision, mission, and core values for holistic development.
Resource person, associate programme manager at Antarang Foundation (Mumbai based NGO), Yomakumba Ao emphasized the significance and applicability of social work in a hospital environment. He motivated the students to venture outside, explore, and gain knowledge.
