A fire broke out at a residential area in Lotha Colony area in Dimapur on Monday evening. When contacted, SI Fire Station (West) Dimapur, G. Akumba Tikhir informed Nagaland Post, that the incident took place around 6.40 p.m. However, no casualty was reported as no one was present at home during the incident.
Four fire engines– two from Central Station and two from West Station, were dispatched to the scene, he said.
Though it was suspected to be an electrical short circuit, officials said that they were yet to ascertain the cause of the incident.
Preliminary assessments revealed that properties worth nearly Rs. 10 lakh was destroyed in the fire.
