Patton calls for strengthening party

Deputy chief minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Y. Patton encouraged the BJP office bearers and karyakartas to re-dedicate themselves and strengthen the party at both state and national levels. A press release by deputy CMO media cell informed that Patton was addressing a meeting of BJP office bearers and karyakartas on January 23 at Tourist Lodge Dimapur, after taking over as legislator in-charge for Dimapur and Peren districts.


Patton encouraged the gathering to re-dedicate themselves in strengthening the party in the state and at the national levels, which he said was “growing by leaps and bounds”. He assured to look into the difficulties faced by the party in the district and extend assistance for proper upkeep of the party office. The BJP leader also asked the party workers to support the alliance candidate in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, as part of the agreement with the alliance partner – Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP). Patton also exuded confidence that BJP at the Centre would come back to power with absolute majority.


Short speeches were also delivered by state secretary and co-in-charge of Dimapur district BJP, Shilukaba Longchar and state vice president and in-charge of Dimapur district BJP, Yankithung Yanthan. The meeting was chaired by BJP Dimapur Unit general secretary, Shiyeto Wotsa.
