ENPO opposes FMR; likely to set deadline for FNT

Amidst the Central government’s decision to fence Indo-Myanmar border and end the Free Movement Regime (FMR), the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) on Thursday resolved to oppose the move.

Sources said that the decision was made during the Central Executive Council meeting of ENPO held at Mon on Thursday.
Sources privy to the meeting informed Nagaland Post that the house was of the opinion that there were many factors that would affect the people from Myanmar, because of which ENPO had to defend its own people living in Myanmar.

Further, sources also said that the house deliberated over the delay in signing of the Memorandum of Settlement on Frontier Naga Territory (FNT). The meeting decided to set a timeframe for the Centre for signing the agreement very soon. No further details could be obtained till the time of filing this report.
