Khezhakeno and Pfutseromi recently celebrated “Friendship Day” at Khezhakeno village on January 20, under the theme “Build up each other”, drawing inspiration from I Thessalonians 5:11. The main speaker of the event, Dr. Neisatuo Mero, MLA, highlighted the core principles of friendship, emphasizing oneness, mutual support, unity, and loyalty as crucial elements that both villages should uphold.
Friendship monoliths were unveiled at Khezhakeno and Pfutseromi villages by VCC Pfutseromi, Lhiwepelo Ritse, and VCC Khezhakeno, D Lhouchinyi Koza. Rev. Nikko Mero and Rev. Seve Koza led prayers for the unveiling ceremony.
The celebration aimed to fortify the brotherhood between the two villages, fostering a commitment to each other’s well-being and cherishing these bonds for generations to come. The programme, chaired by N. Neilo Pulo Koza, featured a welcome address by VCC Khezhakeno and friendship greetings by VCC Pfutseromi.
The event included speeches by key figures such as former VCC Pfutseromi, Kewekope Mero, Dr. Joel Koza of Health & Family Welfare, Zekotso Mero, IPS and president of Tenyimi People’s Organisation, Timikha Koza, special songs from both villages added a cultural touch, and Dr. Kewelelo Mero delivered the vote of thanks.
