75th Republic Day celebrated across the state

Nagaland joined the rest of the country in celebrating the 75th Republic Day by organizing various events across the state.


Peren: Peren district celebrated the Republic day at Peren district headquarter where deputy chief minister, Home and Border Affairs Yanthungo Patton unfurled the national flag and received the Rashtriya salute.
The parade continents included, DEF Peren; 9th IRB Saijang; NCC Peren Government College Peren; NCC Government Higher Secondary School Peren; JNV Peren and Baptist Higher Secondary School Peren. The 1st Parade Commander was Lunso SDPO Jalukie and the Second Parade Commander was N. Mhabemo Jungio ABSI respectively. To mark the occasion tri colour national flag was hoisted in all the government offices.


Wokha: Minister of Power & Parliamentary Affairs, K. G. Kenye unfurled the National Flag at the Republic Day celebration at Wokha. He also received Rashtriya salute, parade inspection, and delivered the speech. The Parade, was led by Parade Commander, SDPO Wokha, Sangthing Khiam, and Parade 2 i/c ABI 7th NAP Nzanthung Lotha.K.G. Kenye also inaugurated stalls from diverse entities. Later, an exhibition cricket match was played between DC XI and Wokha District Cricket Association.
Nagaland House, New Delhi: Minister of Health & Family Welfare, P. Paiwang Konyak attended the Republic Day celebration at Nagaland House, New Delhi as chief guest.


B. Bangtick Phom MLA along with senior officers and staff of NH, New Delhi also attended the celebration.
Paiwang in his address highlighted the State Government’s works and developments taking place. He stated that in order to provide affordable health care and improve health facilities, the State’s first medical college – Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR), Kohima was inaugurated by Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Chemical & Fertilizers, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on October 14, 2023. He informed that there was further plan for future expansion and construction of a 400-bed hospital, and establishing another Medical College in Mon with intake capacity of 100 MBBS students per year.


Mokokchung: The Republic Day was celebrated at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, with minister of PHED and Co-operation, Jacob Zhimomi unfurling the National Flag. The guest inspected the parade and delivered the Republic Day speech followed by the march past. On the occasion, Jacob also gave away the certificate of merit to the winners of Poetry Writing Competition, Sentinaro Jamir and Odichung Jamir. The competition was held on account of 16 Days Activism against Gender Based Violence on the theme “United Invest to Prevent violence against Women and Girls” an initiative under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mokokchung. Altogether nine parade contingents took part in the March Past; DEF Mokokchung, 2nd NAP Alichen, 13th NAP (IR), Home Guards, Ex-Servicemen, NCC Fazl Ali College, NCC Mayangnokcha GHSS, Bharat Scout & Guides and 2nd NAP Pipe Band with Parade Commander, Benrio Shitio, Asst. Commandant 2nd NAP, Alichen and Mangjai Phom 2nd in Command.


Noklak: Minister of Road & Bridges, G. Kaito Aye unfurled the National flag at Public Ground Noklak. Kaito also received the Rashtriya Salute from seven contingents which was led by Parade commander ABI Evai Phom, Parade 2 i/c ABSI Penthung, Parade CHM Hav Peshio K Khiamniungan. The parade contingents consisted of DEF & NAP, Village Guard Nokhu, Village Guard Old Pangsha, Ex-Servicemen, NCC GHSS Noklak, NCC GHS Noklak Village and Holy Angels School Noklak. The National Anthem was sung by St. Paul School, Noklak. Kaito also inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various departments.


Mon: Minister of Housing & Mechanical Engineering P. Bashangmongba Chang unfurled the national flag at Mon. A total of eight parade continents, viz. 6th NAP BN Tizit; DEF Mon; VG; Ex – Servicemen; NCC Wangkhao Government College; Bharat Scout and Guides Don Bosco School; Government Higher Secondary School (D) and 6th NAP BN pipe Band took part in the march past.


Tseminyu: Republic day was celebrated at Rengma Sports Association Ground, Tseminyu with minister of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Village Guards, C.L. John as special guest. He unfurled the National Flag and received Rashtriya salute and delivered the Republic Day Speech. Altogether five parade contingents, 4th NAP ‘B ‘COY, GHSS (NCC), GHSS Tseminyu, Baptist Hr. Sec. School Tseminyu-NCC and DBS Tseminyu –NCC participated in the march past.


Chumoukedima: Minister of Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse graced the 75th Republic Day at Chumoukedima district at Chumoukedima town public ground. The minister unfurled the National flag and inspected the parade contingents. The participants of the parade contingents were NCC Contingents from Govt. Higher Secondary School; Tetso College; St. Joseph University; Ex-servicemen; Patkai Christian College; Pipe Band ARTC & S. Shokhuvi.


Longleng: In Longleng, advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, S. Keoshu Yimchunger, unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade contingent. The parade contingent included DEF Longleng, 12th NAP (IR), village guard, Bautung Government Higher Secondary School and Yingli College Longleng. The parade was led by ABI, Tiawang Ao and ABSI. Youtsumong Yim as 2nd in-charge.


Sanis: In Sanis, Advisor for CAWD & Taxes Kudecho Khamo unfurled the National Flag and took Rashtriya salute. The festivities also included a special presentation by the Women Cultural Troupe, Sanis Village, and the inauguration of stalls by the chief guest.


Kiphire: Advisor of Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guard & Civil Defence, S.Kiusumew Yimchunger, unfurled national flag at Public Ground, Kiphire. He also extended greeting to the people on the occasion on Republic Day.
In the afternoon session Exhibition football match between New Aegis FC vs United Vikings FC was played.


Phek: In Phek, the national flag was unfurled by Dr. Neisatuo Mero MLA.
He also received Rashtriya salute from five Parade contingents led by Parade Commander, Assistant Commandant, 5 NAP Phek, Vedehu Theluo, Parade Second-in-Command, ABI, DEF, Phek, Keviletou Soliezuo and Parade CHM, HAV, DEF Phek, Pota Chakhesang. He also inaugurated the exhibition stalls setup by Agriculture Departments, DRDA & NSRLM, Horticulture Department, Fishery Department, Medical Department, DEO (Employment), ATMA, Urban Development Department and District Legal Service Authority.


Zunheboto: Advisor of Food & Civil supplies and Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, KT Sukhalu, received the Rashtrya Salute at Zunheboto district.
Altogether a total of ten (10) parade contingents participated in the march past, which was led by parade commander, Assistant Commandant, 8 NAP Naltoqa, K P Lotha and parade 2 I/C, ASI, DEF Zunheboto, Shihu Angami. During the programme, cultural item was presented by Natha New village Women Cultural Troupe and the gathering was enthralled with a special song by Zhimokali K. Rotokha.


Tuensang: Advisor of Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan unfurled the national flag at local ground, Tuensang. A total of eight parade contingents consisting of DEF Tuensang, 3rd NAP Tuensang, VG Tuensang Village, VG Konya Village, Ex- Service men, NCC St. John Hr. Secondary School, Bharat Scouts and Guides and 3rd NAP Pipe Band with Tianungba Asst. Commandant 3rd NAP as Parade Commander and Tohanba Quinker ABI, DEF as parade second in command took part in the march past.


Niuland: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at Niuland town with advisor of Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu as the special guest. The special guest unfurled the National Flag and received Rashtriya salute from five parade contingents under the command of Imotemjen Jamir, Dy. S.P. Niuland.


Shamator: Advisor of IT & C, Economics & Statistics & Evaluation, Sethrongkyu unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade at local ground, Shamator Town.


Meluri: The 75th Independence Day was celebrated at local ground Meluri Town with Kevipodi Sophie, MLA as special guest. He unfurled the National flag and received the Rashtriya salute from five parade contingents.


Bhandari: Advisor of School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome unfurled the national flag and received salute from the parade contingents comprised of the 7th NAP, 7th NAP school, Government Higher Secondary School and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Bhandari led by platoon commander, N. Ringamlung ABI 7th NAP.


Akuluto: The Republic day was celebrated at Akuluto with advisor Social of Welfare Wangpang Konyak as special guest at Akuluto ADC HQ, Zunheboto.


Mangkolemba: Advisor of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, A. Pangjung Jamir unfurled the National Flag at public ground Mangkolemba, Mokokchung.


Medziphema: The Republic day was celebrated at Local Ground Medziphema Sub-Division, with advisor of Land Resources, G. Ikuto Zhimomi as the chief guest.
Ikuto also inaugurated the exhibition stalls setup by Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Medziphema, Schools of Agricultural Sciences Nagaland University Medziphema Campus, Nyiepou (SHG), KYK Dimapur, ICAR Research Complex for NEH REGION, Nagaland Centre, Jharnapani Medziphema and ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun Medziphema.


Tizit: The Republic Day was celebrated at Tizit, Mon with advisor of Treasuries & Accounts, Art & Culture, Konngam Konyak unfurling the National Flag and received Rashtriya Salute from three parade contingents led by Inspector, Aguak Konyak.
Seyochung: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at Public Ground, Seyochung HQ, Kiphire. Advisor of Minority Affairs and Sericulture, Imkongmar graced the occasion as the special guest.


Tuli: In Tuli, the national flag was unfurled by Nuklutoshi, MLA as the chief guest.
Chiephobozou: Chiephobozou ADC Headquarter celebrated the 75th Republic Day at ADC Office Chiephobozou, Kohima with Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe MLA as the chief guest.


Tening: In Tening, the national flag was unfurled by Dr. Tseiluotuo Rutso MLA and received Rastriya salute from the parade contingents.


Jalukie: At Jalukie, Er. Picto MLA unfurled the National Flag and received the Rashtriya salute from the parade contingents.


Tobu: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated with Dr. Sukhato A. Sema MLA as the special guest at local ground, Tobu.


Tamlu: Naiba Konyak, MLA graced the Republic Day celebration as special guest. He unfurled the National flag, delivered the Republic Day speech and took salute from the parade contingents.


Pungro: Pungro sub-division celebrated the 75th Republic day at Public Ground, Pungro, Kiphire. Advisor of New & Renewable Energy and NSDMA, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe unfurled the National Flag.


Longkhim: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at public ground Longkhim, Tuensang with ADC Longkhim, Anoka H Assumi, as special guest.


Chozuba: The Chozuba Sub Division headquarters under Phek district celebrated 75th Republic Day at GA Rest House, Chozuba Town.
ADC, Imokokla unfurled the national flag and took Rashtriya Salute followed by Republic Day speech.


Pfutsero: Along with the rest of the country Pfutsero sub-division observed Republic Day at ADC Complex, Pfutsero, Phek. C. Phuniang SDO (C), Pfutsero unfurled the national flag and received Rashtriya Salute and read out the Republic Day speech.


Thonoknyu: At Thonoknyu HQ, the Republic Day celebration was held at SDO Civil Office Compound, Thonoknyu, Noklak where SDO Civil Tsatsusei unfurled the National Flag.


Wakching: Wakching sub-division observed Republic Day at SDO(C) office, Mon with SDO (C) James Renbi Kikon unfurling the national flag.


Jakhama: At Jakhama sub-division, the Republic day was celebrated at SDO (C) office premises, Kohima with Nockpai Konyak unfurling the national flag.


Satakha: Satakha town celebrated the Republic Day at ADC office, Zunheboto. ADC Satakha M.S. Thangpong, unfurled the national flag.


Pughoboto: In Pughoboto, the national flag was unfurled by ADC Pughoboto, Tiameren Chang.


Changtongya: The Republic Day was celebrated at the SDO (Civil) Office Complex, Changtongya, Mokokchung. The National Flag was unfurled by SDO (C), C. Wangan.


Aboi: In Aboi, the National Flag was unfurled by ADC, Phuleshe K Yepthomi, as the chief guest.
