Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mokokchung and Kohima conducted Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meetings on January 24 at respective headquarters for the approval of its Annual Action Plan (AAP) for the financial year 2024-25.
Mokokchung: KVK Mokokchung SAC meeting discussed recommendations for Action Plan 2024-25 by the SAC members. The meeting also highlighted the activities undertaken during the year 2023-24 based on the recommendation by the SAC in 2023.
During the meeting, the committee, among other recommendations, suggested wider collaborative efforts with Allied departments to deliver specific need-based solution to the farmers.
The keynote address was delivered by senior scientist and head, Dr. Keviletsu Khate while the closing remark and approval of Action Plan 2024-25 for onward submission to ATARI, Zone VII was delivered by the chairman, SAC cum district agriculture officer, Mokokchung. The committee members present during the meeting includes joint director, SARS, divisional forest officer, chief veterinary officer, district soil conservation officer, assistant registrar co-operative societies, district sericulture officer, farm radio officer (AIR) and Sr. scientist and head, KVK as member secretary.
Kohima: The XVI SAC meeting of KVK Kohima was held at the Conference Hall of KVK Kohima Office, wherein joint director, agriculture, Sanuzo Neinu emphasised the essence of KVK in the district, its purpose to serve the rural mass and farming community for their upliftment through the perspective of agriculture and allied discipline.
Neinu also released the literature publication titled “A Manual Guide on Gardening and FAITH (Food Always in The Home) Garden Techniques”.
Principal scientist and head, Dr. Ruokuovilie Mezhatsu shared the KVK mandated activities and presented the detailed Annual Progress Report (APR) of KVK Kohima for the financial year 2023-24.
After thorough deliberation the house unanimously approved the AAP 2024-25. Various districts officers of agriculture and ATMA, horticulture, veterinary service and animal husbandry, sericulture, land resource, and forest departments and other line departments, progressive farmers, and farmers producer organization attended the meeting.
