A Skill Development Training (SDT) on “banana fibre craft” organised by Peren district administration in collaboration with Runway India under Beti Bachao Beto Padhao (BBBP) commenced on January 24 at DB Court Ahthibung, Peren.
A press release by Runway India stated that during the inaugural programme, Sub Divisional Officer (SDO-Civil) Ahthibung, Nchumthung Ezung underscored the importance of skilling youths. He also drew attention to the increasing unemployment rates and encouraged the youths to explore more creative avenues for livelihood, as government jobs have reached saturation point.
The resource person, director of Runway India, Nengneithem Hengna highlighted the significance of training and skill upgrading. She encouraged the girls to be confident and contribute to the growth of the state, rather than becoming a burden. The training will be conducted at Runway TBCo Ahthibung unit.
