Workshop on ‘low cost, no cost teaching aids’

A training cum workshop on “low cost, no cost teaching aids” was conducted on January 27 Livingstone Foundation International (LFI) Dimapur by Breeze Women Welfare Association (BWWA), as part of its series of training programmes.


A press release by BWWA media cell stated that the training cum workshop programme has been catalysed and supported by National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science & Technology, government of India and in active collaboration with Kaziranga University, Jorhat and ThinkTac, Bangalore.


Speaking on the occasion, LFI chairman, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema encouraged the students to be in sync with the changing and modern world and to hone their skills. She said in today’s education system emphasis should be given to holistic development of a child in enhancing not only their intelligence quotient but also their social quotient, emotional quotient and adversity quotient.


During the student development session led by the dean of Kaziranga University, Bobby Roy and Manager, Abhijeet Bharadwaj, a team of students from KU demonstrated various intriguing and exciting facets of the new and emerging developments in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) which included Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR) and robotics.


Other highlights of the training included a session on “low cost, no cost teaching aids” by Bipul Sangma, Nabi Hassan, Bobby Bol Zeliang, and a workshop on “low-cost learning aids” by regional manager, ThinkTac, Bangalore, Pritom Routh.
The training was conducted across three separate sessions and was attended by both teachers as well as students from the host school and other schools including St. Paul Higher Secondary School, Lewis Academy, Spring Blossoms Academy.


Meanwhile, BWWA informed that the “low cost, no cost teaching aids” was an endeavour of the association under its president, Ani Yepthomi, to encourage teachers and students to take keen interest in teaching and learning by utilizing low-cost teaching-learning aids.
