Six-day STRY training for rural youths concludes

A six-day Skill Development of Rural Youths (STRY) on “poultry rearing and management” for rural youths culminated on January 29 at Mohung Village, Mon.


A press release by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mon stated that the training under STRY was organised by KVK Mon in association with State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland & National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) with ACTO (Ani. Science) KVK Mon, Dr Rongsen as the course director.


During the training sessions, 15 rural youths were trained on all the vital components in poultry production such as breeds, breeding, housing, nutrition, diseases, health care management and all the routine managemental aspects.


On the valedictory session, senior scientist and head KVK Mon, Dr. Akashe Zhimomi encouraged the trainees to work sincerely and make good use of the skilled being acquired. The trainees were provided with broiler chicks and starter feeds to start up poultry rearing and to get acquainted with poultry enterprise.
