IIE trained NE entrepreneurs visits Delhi on invitation by PM

Ten entrepreneurs from the Northeast region, along with their spouses, were invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grace the 75th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. These entrepreneurs, representing diverse sectors like incense manufacturing, garment making, and food processing, were trained by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Guwahati, an organization under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).


The team of entrepreneurs was led by PrasantaGoswami, AFM, IIE and Nodal Officer of the programme along with Nayanmoni Hazarika, Administrative Officer and other IIE officials.
Brief bio of the same may be read as: ChandanaSaikiaKalita. a homemaker from Assam who turned her self taught passion for baking into a business after formal training from IIE.


Mayangsangla from Dimapur, Nagaland, a farmer who furthered her training to promote local organic produce from her Nagaland village. BhabasindhuSaikia, amongst one of the first-generation entrepreneur from Assam set up an incense stick making unit after IIE’s training programme, and has been an awardee at the India International Trade Fair. Samita Asfia Sirin, owns her own sewing institute in Dibrugarh, providing training and empowering other women. Banshailang Marbaniang, from Meghalaya, who owns a food processing business through IIE’s skill development programme.


PriyoliTanwar, a Manipuri who specialises in maternity beauty therapy training while also
Chaiti Das from Tripura owns a salon in Agartala, keenly involved in women empowerment activities. Renu Nath popularly has earned a household identity owning a store selling her products and empowering other SHG members through participation in national fairs.


Starting with pickle and jam making training, she now owns Founder of the food delivery app ‘Hungryji’, Doni Riba from Arunachal Pradesh, alongside Karabi Baruah Kalita runs her own salon providing self-employment opportunities. The entrepreneurs visited the Kaushal Bhavan, the Ministry’s headquarters after the parade and met with Union Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan.
