Model Christian College (MCC) organized one day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on February 3, at the college auditorium.
Resource persons of the event were Pro-Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema, Prof. Glenn T Thong, and Assoc. Prof. State College of Teacher Education, Kohima, Dr. Sandip Ratna. A press release by MCC informed that the programme was divided into three sessions under the topics Role of Educator/ Teacher in the context of NEP 2020, Research, Project and Funding, and Tutorial: Concept and Practice.
Professor Glenn T. Thong, on Role of Educator/Teacher in the context of NEP 2020, stressed on importance of teachers being well equipped and well informed to act as educators and mentors. He also encouraged teachers to pursue research studies which would benefit the individual, college, and society as a whole.
Meanwhile, with the implementation of NEP 2020, Dr. Sandip Ratna said tutorial was now an integral part of the curriculum, and explained the concepts and practice of tutorial. Tatna further emphasized the role of teachers in prescribing and evaluating the problems and abilities of the students.
The release stated that the programme was moderated by Asst. Professor, MCC, Sentinaro Lemtur, and vote of thanks delivered by IQAC coordinator, Dr. Akano Yhokha.
