District Mission Management Unit (DMMU) Mokokchung under Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) organised one day district level credit camp on February 4 at R.D Block Kubolong, Mokokchung, coinciding with the launching event of “Lakhpati Didi” by Prime Minister of India.
A press release by NSRLM Mokokchung stated that the main objective of the credit camp was to promote and encourage women Self Help Groups (SHGs) to take up individual enterprise through availing loans from banks so as to alleviate their livelihoods as well as to make them economically stable.
During the camp, Central Bank of India (CBI) Kubolong, branch manager, Kheza Kin highlighted the participants on how to avail loans, the various products of loans, and encouraged the SHGs to utilize the loans in the right way.
Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, Mokokchung, field officer, Pursenla challenged the SHGs to come together and work as one so as to bring about changes in the community. She encouraged the SHGs to continue on availing loans and to maintain proper loan recovery.
District Coordinator (Financial Inclusion), Mongchen Aier highlighted on the status of Mokokchung district. He informed that a total of 760 SHGs have availed loan from different banking institutes across Mokokchung district.
Aier also informed that till date there are 1283 SHGs under Mokokchung district with over 9000 SHG members.
The programme was chaired by area coordinator (financial inclusion), Limasunep and the introductory address was delivered by block program manager, R.D Block Kubolong, Subotula.
A total of 13 SHGs under Kubolong block was handed loan sanctions by the branch manager, CBI Kubolong.
