A three-day training on “first aid” for fire station personnel of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) at Dimapur Airport organised by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Nagaland State Branch culminated on January 31.
A press release by IRCS Nagaland stated that the training aimed to enhance the participants’ proficiency in providing immediate medical assistance during emergencies.
The training cohort comprised 20 members, including 15 participants from Dimapur Airport, two participants from Agartala Airport and one participant each from Imphal Airport, Manipur, Guwahati Airport, Assam and Lilabari Airport, Assam.
During the three-day intensive program, participants underwent comprehensive instruction on various aspects of first aid, including assessing injuries, administering CPR, controlling bleeding, treating burns, and managing shock. Practical exercises, simulations, and interactive sessions were utilized to ensure active engagement and effective learning.
Following the training sessions, participants underwent a rigorous evaluation to assess their proficiency in first aid skills. The evaluation aimed to ensure that each participant was equipped with the necessary knowledge and abilities to respond effectively to medical emergencies in their respective roles.
During a closing ceremony, IRCS Nagaland State Branch, general secretary, Akhale V Khamo congratulated the participants on their dedication and commitment throughout the training program. She emphasized the critical role that first aid responders play in saving lives and commended the participants for their willingness to serve their communities in times of need.
