Immunisation from March 3

In view of the ensuing Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) day on March 3, the District Task Force (DTF) on immunization held a meeting on Tuesday at the Conference Room of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokokchung’s Office.
A press release by National Health Mission (NHM) Mokokchung informed that, during the meeting, the District Programme Officer (DPO), Dr Takosunep, highlighted the gathering on the activities to be carried out during IPPI day.
He informed that a total of 5443 children (0 to 5 years) were to be administered the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV), covering an estimated total of 33552 households, and 214 vaccination booths were to be set up.


DC Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, who chaired the programme, called upon the civil society organisations, churches, village councils and allied departments to cooperate for the success of the IPPI programme.
Dimapur: District Task Force for Immunization on National Immunization Day (NID, Pulse Polio) and Measles Rubella (MR) elimination programme was held at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur on Tuesday.
According to a DIPR report, district immunization officer, Rebecca highlighted that NID activities are to be followed by booth activity from March 3 to cover maximum children through IEC and mobilization. She also noted that house-to-house activity would be taken from March 4- 5 to vaccinate missed children and ensure that no child was left unvaccinated.


Chairing the programme, DC Dimapur, Tinojongshi Chang, urged all the departments to extend their support in elimination of measles rubella. He also called upon the gathering to educate the people and to create awareness, and to be vigilant.
Phek: Chief Medical Officer, Phek, Dr. Avile Zao has informed that the conduct of the first phase of National Immunization Day (NID) of Polio for Children age group of 0-5 years would be held on March 3.
CMO Phek has reminded the concerned citizens of Phek District to immunize their children in respective/nearest Immunisation Centres. All health care workers have been asked to prepare all necessary arrangements and to start creating awareness activities for the programme.
