Kohima Municipal Council hikes pork rate; issues guidelines

Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has enhanced pork rare from Rs. 300 to Rs. 350 per kg within its jurisdiction from February 29 till further notice.
In a press release, KMC administrator, T Lanusenla Longkumer notified all butchers to mandatorily follow the guidelines issued by the council.
KMC has directed all butches to maintain cleanliness and hygiene, wear proper apron, update their trade licence on time, maintain proper shop signboard, no butcher should sell beyond the fixed rate, and not to have a separate rate for local/non-local/dressed pork categories within its jurisdiction.
