Block-level assessment camps for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) for students and identified home-based children in the age group of 6 to 18 years was conducted on February 24, February 26 and February 27 at Seyochung, Kiphire and Pungro Educational Block Resource Centres (EBRCs) respectively.
A press release by the department informed that the camps were held by Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland along with technical personnel from collaborative partners, ELITE (moving towards Independent Living) Dimapur, Nagaland for Prosthetic and Orthotics, Soundbeatz Pvt Ltd, Delhi for Hearing Impaired and Ophthalmic Assistant from the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kiphire for Vision.
During the camps, 86 children from three blocks were assessed, where 75 were identified as visual impaired, three with hearing impaired and eight with locomotor.
