Public hearing on MGNREGS

DIMAPUR: District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Phek in collaboration with Nagaland State Social Audit Agency (NSSAA), Social Audit Unit Nagaland (SAUN) conducted 5th phase FY 2023-24 social audit district level public hearing under MGNREGS implemented during FY 2021-22 on March 1 at the Conference Hall of DRDA Phek.


In a joint press release, DRDA, EAC (P) Phek and NSSAA-SAUN informed that at the public hearing a four-point resolution was adopted – to conduct “Rozgar Diwas” on a regular basis; job cards under the categories of migration and deceased to be either deleted or replaced by genuine households after proper verification; new households to be issued job cards after due verification; an amount of Rs. 1,10,028 was detected under categories of deceased and migration job cards and have been resolved to recover the same.
Nagaland State Social Audit Agency- Social Audit Unit Nagaland, assistant director, Imlirenla Sanglir highlighted the review made on the social audit findings.


She acknowledged the improvement made over the years towards the implementation of the MGNREGS in the district.
The assistant director implored the implementing agency and the programme functionaries to continue to make efforts to implement the scheme in consonance with the ministry guidelines.
Social audit resource person, Kelanu Thapo (DRP) presented the findings of social audit and was reviewed during the hearings.
The release further informed that 12 villages were audited under two RD blocks.
