State to implement ECCE in all govt schools: Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome

Adviser of School Education and SCERT, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome on Saturday informed that Nagaland would be implementing Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) curriculum in all the government schools from this year.
Addressing the valedictory programme of ECCE & FLN District Master Trainers at Mt Tabor Retreat Centre as special guest, Dr Yhome said the department would continue to provide similar trainings signalling the department’s commitment to improving educational standards.
He emphasized the importance of setting parameters in education tailored to India’s diverse educational landscape.
Dr Yhome also highlighted Nagaland’s significant contributions in curriculum development for childhood education, and the need for continued attention to education in the state. He also underscored the importance of a comprehensive approach to education, starting from early childhood.


Dr. Yhome highlighted the vitality of DoSE’s workforce, with around 41 percent of employees aged between 31 to 41, showcasing a dynamic and energetic workforce ready to drive educational reforms.
Emphasizing the need to move beyond focusing solely on matriculation results, Dr. Yhome stressed the importance of holistic education, calling for a thorough approach from early childhood onwards. He urged all stakeholders, including the more than 5000 teachers in the state, to work collectively towards enhancing the education system.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by joint mission director, Samagra Shiksha, Dr Bijano Murry.
Feedback sharing was done by CDPO Aboi Mon, department of Social Welfare, Limasangla, ToT EBRC Noklak, Puchai PM and head teacher, GMS Tishi Valley Zunheboto, Inashe Sumi.


A summary of the training and administering of pledge was done by deputy mission director & program coordinator Samagra Shiksha, Kelhikha Kenye. During the programme, the trainees took a pledge dedicate themselves to their vocation.
To make full use of their skills and talents to offer the best instruction of which they were capable. They promised to never stop learning for a teacher should always be a learner too.
