A district level neighbourhood youth parliament was jointly organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Longleng and Longleng district administration on March 2 at CMTC Hall Longleng. According to a DIPR report, speaking as the special guest, Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Longleng, Vitolu, deliberated on discipline, punctuality and encouraged the youths to take part in every platform.
Speaking on the topic, “New India, New initiative”, EAC Longleng, Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak, highlighted the youth club about the new methods of using the internet and asked them to be active in any social activities.
In a keynote address, DYO, NYK Longleng, Kisor Barman, briefed the gathering on how to register on “Mybharat portal”.
Sports materials were distributed to 14 youth clubs in Longleng district. A demonstration on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) was carried out by Election Department Longleng and participated by 65 youth clubs.
The programme was chaired by NYV Mongnyei C. Phom and a vote of thanks was delivered by NYV Pongchei B. Phom.
