Histopathology lab inaugurated at NHAK

NITI Aayog vice chairman, Suman Kumar Bery on Tuesday inaugurated the histopathology lab at Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima. The unit has been set up under the initiative of Investment & Development Authority Nagaland (IDAN), Department of Health & Family Welfare and the funding agency, Numaligarh Refinery Limited.


Speaking at the event, Bery, emphasized the substantial impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and underscored the importance of concentrating CSR projects for effective mobilization of resources and ensuring credibility, for timely implementation.
He also spoke on Niti Aayog, and the significance of the governing council, comprising chief ministers from all states, who with their collective commitment set aside political differences and come together for the greater cause of India’s progress.
He lauded state leaders for uniting as “Team India,” working together for the well-being of their citizens and striving to elevate India to its deserved status.


In alignment with Niti Aayog’s objectives, Bery explained the organization aims to address the aspirations and challenges of transforming India into a developed nation, “Vikshit Bharat,” by 2047.
Managing Director NHAK, Dr. Sendimeren Aonok in his speech described the day as a historic moment for the state and said it was the first histopathology unit installed under the CSR program, sponsored by Numaligarh Refinery Limited.
Introducing the project, joint secretary of IDAN, Reny Wilfred, said it was a monumental event for NHAK as well as for Nagaland, and the first of its kind in Kohima.


He expressed gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the project.
At the inaugural program, a significant step was taken towards enhancing nursing education and healthcare services in Nagaland with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).


The MoU has been signed between five key stakeholders: Doctors For You, Principal Director of Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Joint Secretary of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Additional Secretary of the Department of Health & Family Welfare and Nursing School at District Hospital Mokokchung.


The main key highlight of the MoU was on the upgradation of GNM Nursing School into B.Sc Nursing College in Mokokchung, strengthening and upgrading existing GNM schools to accommodate up to 60 seats in the B.Sc Nursing College at Mokokchung, operating under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, development and provision of education, training, and research facilities of the highest order for various courses of nursing education at all levels, conducting research, with a focus on operational, applied, and other studies related to nursing sciences etc.
