Training on ECCE commences at Diphupar

A five-day block level training for government teachers on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and Foundation Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) for Education Block Resource Centre (EBRC) Kushiabill block commenced on Tuesday, at Diphupar ‘A’ village council hall.
It may be mentioned that ECCE curriculum for the state, the first in the country, was launched on March 2, by advisor of School Education and SCERT, Dr. Kekhrie Yhome.


Delivering keynote address, deputy director of School Education, Erali Swu informed that the five-days training was a replicate of the recently conducted ECCE and FLN district masters-trainers training programme held from February 27 to March 2, at Mt Tabor retreat centre, Kohima.


She informed that the first phase of block level training will be conducted simultaneously in three districts namely Dimapur, Wokha and Zunheboto. Delivering short speech District Education Officer (DEO), Dimapur Hokheto Yeptho said that sincerity and dedication were fundamental traits necessary for effective teaching and said that as educators they have to continuously upgrade themselves with the new methods and innovations to impart quality education.


Meanwhile, Diphupar village council (DVC) chairman Ghuzuui Shohe emphasized the significant role played by the teachers in shaping the young minds. The programme was chaired by EBRC Kushiabill coordinator Keviseu Zutso where she informed the training programme will be carried out in two phases. The second phase of the training will take place from March 18 to March 22.
