State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio and Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) have commended the successful conduct of the 3rd North East Games 2024 hosted by Nagaland. Rio, in a congratulatory note to organizing secretary and working president of North East Sports Association, Abu Metha, said the games, featured participation from all eight states of the North Eastern region across 15 sports disciplines, involving over 3000 athletes, officials, and delegates. Rio said the success of the games was a collective achievement of all the citizens of Nagaland. He said the positive feedback received from participants and officials indicated the games’ success.
The chief minister also extended gratitude and appreciation to all the organizations, individuals, state sports associations, national federations, technical officials, volunteers, and the department of Youth Resources & Sports, partnering institutes, vendors, sponsors, State Olympic Associations, North East Sports Association (NESA), and dignitaries for their support. Mentioning the support of the President of India, Prime Minister, Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Indian Olympic Association President, Chief Ministers, and other dignitaries it lauded the Nagaland Olympic Association’s professional team, led by exemplary leadership, which ensured smooth event management.
NDDP: Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party has congratulated the Government of Nagaland and Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) led by Chief Minister and president NOA, Neiphiu Rio, for the successful hosting of the 3rd North East Games (NEG) from March 18 to March 23 at Chümoukedima.
In a press statement, NDPP Media & Communication Committee said despite challenges, the games concluded successfully, showcasing the relentless efforts of NOA and the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, in preparing all venues, including the Games Village, for the athletes from North-East States.
Further, it also commended the role of secretary general of NOA and NDPP for their leadership in ensuring the event’s success and the hospitality extended to all athletes. Congratulating all the participants for their sportsmanship especially as Nagaland takes home the runners up title, NDPP appreciated the host districts for their hospitality, aiming for strengthened regional unity through sports and brotherhood.
