Lok Sabha poll: No nominations filed on last day

No political party candidate has filed nomination papers for Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha seat on March 27, the last day of filing the papers. Altogether four candidates, including the substitute candidate for Congress nominee, have so filed their nominations for the Lok Sabha polls.


Besides PDA consensus candidate Dr Chumben Murry and Congress candidate S Supongmeren Jamir, Hayithung Tungoe Lotha, independent candidate, was the first to file his papers. The 2024 Lok Sabha election will witness a three-cornered contest between PDA candidate, Congress and Independent candidate, scheduled on April 19. The last day of filing the papers was March 27, scrutiny on March 28 and withdrawal of candidature will be March 30.
