Chümoukedima and Niuland registered their respective wins at the ongoing 4th late G. Rio Memorial Men’s U19 inter-district tournament 2024 on Thursday at Nagaland Cricket Stadium and Sovima Cricket Ground respectively.
On day-3, at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chümoukedima beat Peren by 9 wickets. Opting to bat first, Peren could not put up the show as they were bowled out for 66 runs (21.1 overs). Only Amit Marak (19 runs) and Bishu (19 runs) stood up to the occasion, however, they were not able to convert it to bigger runs. For Chümoukedima, Aloto Sumi took a spectacular 5 wickets which was well supported by Ravi and Anungsang Lemtur who bagged 3 wickets and 1 wicket respectively.
At the Sovima Cricket Ground, Niuland defeated Tseminyu by 9 wickets to book their place in the semi-final. Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Tseminyu were bowled out for 43 runs (10.4 overs). Gwakenye Khing (10 runs) was the only notable batter as the other batters gave away their wickets without bothering the score card. Lovito Momin 3 wickets, Abhijeet 2 wickets and Sujit & Adze 1 wicket were the wicket takers for Niuland.
In the run chase, Niuland comfortably reached the target in 6.1 overs losing a wicket. For Tseminyu, Hyunyelo Khing took the lone wicket.
