Two persons were injured Tuesday night in the state capital when unidentified gunmen fired at them, Police said.
Police said that the victims identified as J.G. Lorin, Scientist D, District Informatics Officer, Kohima and nephew Tenyenlo Kemp, a Class XI student were fired upon at the New Secretariat road at around 10 pm.
According to Police JG Lorin bore two bullet injuries on the rib while Tenyenlo was shot on the calf. Police recovered 17 empty shells of AK -47 and two empty cases of 7.65 MM pistol from the site.
Meanwhile, the National Informatics Centre, Nagaland through a release issued by Kezungulo Medikhru, SIO has strongly condemned the shooting of one of its employee JG Lorin and his nephew at his residence in Kohima without any reason by some miscreants.
Rengma Officers Forum (ROF) also condemned the shooting of J.G. Lorin, Scientist D, District Informatics Officer, Kohima by unidentified miscreants. A joint press release issued by Mrs G. Khing, vice president, ROF and Daniel Thong, PRO, ROF appealed the authority to take appropriate action as per the law against the culprits involved in the act.
