NSDMA, DDMA extend relief

Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA and the concerned District Disaster Management Authorities have extended immediate relief to the affected families and communities, especially in Peren district, who were affected by an extreme weather event on Mach 26.


In a circular, NSDMA joint CEO, Johnny Ruangmei, said that for those affected in Niuland and Phek districts, assessment of damage was underway.


In the event of any eventualities, the public have been advised to stay alert and report for any eventualities to respective District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs).


He said the storm adversely affected houses and crops, and also caused minor injuries.
Johnny Ruangmei said that NSDMA, home department through the concerned DDMAs were vigilantly monitoring and reaching out to the affected families and community.


Further, Ruangmei informed affected families and communities not reached by the concerned DDMAs to approach the concerned circle administrative officers and report in order to obtain necessary assistance.
