Lok Sabha 2024: Information, guidelines & training

With the announcement of the election to the lone Lok Sabha seat on April 19 by Election Commissions of India (ECI), Nagaland has started preparing for the election by conducting meetings and training polling personnel.


The Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and District Election Officers (DEOs), Additional Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Assistant Election Officers (AEOs) have also issued notices and advisories for the smooth and peaceful conduct of elections.


During the training for polling personnel, master trainers sensitised the trainees on rules and regulations of the ECI and also familiarised them about the usage of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT).


Longleng: The first phase training for polling personal of Longleng was inaugurated by the DC and DEO Longleng, Dharam Raj on March 30 at Auditorium Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Bautung, Longleng. The DC and DEO asked the polling personnel to effectively deliver their service and also called upon all the legible voters to participate in free and fair election. The second phase of training would be held on April 9.


Mon: The first phase training for Mon district polling personnel was conducted on March 30 at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Mon and Town Council Hall, Mon. ADC Mon, K. Temjennaro Longkumer and EAC, Mon Nyamok Konyak, briefed the polling personnel of their roles and responsibilities and urged them to work with dedication as a team for the successful conduct of the election.


Kiphire: Training of sector magistrate, flying squad teams and micro-observers was held on March 30 at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kiphire’s office, with SDO (C) Kiphire, Sulanthung, as the main speaker.


Shamator: The second phase of training for the second and third polling officers, Shamator district concluded on March 30 at the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Shamator.


ADC & ARO Phek: ADC and ARO Phek, Ruopfukuotuo Noudi, has informed to all concerned that District Hospital Phek, Community Health Centres of Meluri, Pfutsero and Chozuba, Primary Health Centre Chizami, Mero Hospital and Diagnostic Centre and 22 AR Unit Hospital have been nominated as empaneled hospitals, and Dr. K Shevo Hiese, DVBO, as the district nodal health officer.
