Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union (ENLU) has fervently appealed to the ENPO to reconsider and revoke is resolution “not to participate in any Central and State elections” so as to create conducive atmosphere to continue the negotiation with the Government of India.
This was reportedly resolved during meeting of all ENLU members held on April 1.
Further, the members had, in principle, reaffirmed its support for the “third option” that is “unique arrangement and a country model under Article 371(A), without disintegrating the present State of Nagaland as proposed by the MHA as on 7th January, 2023.”
The meeting further reiterated that as and when ENPO receives the draft of the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the ENPO would call for a meeting with ENLU, ENGOA, ENSF, ENWO and the tribal hohos/units to deliberate on the MoS Draft, that may take days, weeks, months and take it to the general public for final approval as agreed on July 26, 2023.
The resolution was jointly singed by ENLU convenor P Paiwang Konyak, members– CL John, P Bashangmonga Chang, K Konngam Konyak, W Chingang Konyak, S Keoshu Yimchunger, S Kiusumew Yimchunger, Sethrongkyu, Wanpang Konyak, A Nyamnyei Konyak, Naiba Konyak, C Kipili Sangtam, P Longon, Y Mankhao Konyak, B Bangtick Phom, A Pongshi Phom, Lima Onen Chang, Imtichoba Chang, Benei M Lamthiu and C Manpon Konyak.
