Lieutenant General PC Nair, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, PhD, the Director General of Assam Rifles, chaired the 2024 Assam Rifles Inspector General’s Conference held at the Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles in Laitkor, Shillong, on April 5.
Addressing the formation commanders, battalion commanders and Staff Officers from DGAR and Formations, Lieutenant General PC Nair welcomed officers from Headquarters DGAR and Formations and emphasised on the paramount importance of safeguarding the Indo-Myanmar Border’s integrity. He praised the Force for their impartial professionalism in managing the situation in Manipur and stressed the need to enhance Combat Potential in Conventional Operations for heightened operational efficacy.
General Nair highlighted Assam Rifles’ enduring commitment to the North East populace’s security and welfare. He lauded the conference as a crucial forum for senior military leaders to address vital issues concerning Assam Rifles’ combat potential and operational readiness.
Deliberations centred on bolstering Assam Rifles’ combat readiness and capabilities, focusing on strategic discussions, equipment modernization, sharing best practices, and skill development to address evolving security challenges.
Additionally, the event recognized exemplary contributions with the presentation of Rajbhasha Trophies to outstanding units for their dedication to promoting Hindi, the national language.
