NIMSR observes ‘World Health Day’

Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Kohima observed “World Health Day 2024”, on the theme “My Health, My Right,” emphasizing universal access to quality health services, education, information, clean water, and more on April 8.


Speaking at the programme, HOD of the Department of Community Medicine at NIMSR, Kohima, Dr. Ganesh Shanmugasundaram Anusuya emphasized on the significance of knowing one’s health rights and taking care of personal health.


Director and Dean of NIMSR, Kohima professor Dr. Soumya Chakraborty, in her welcome address highlighted the holistic and comprehensive nature of the year’s theme by WHO, combining self-help concepts with health rights issues.


Assistant professor, department of Pyschiatry, NIMSR, Dr Longna said the vote of thanks. The program was followed by World Health Day Quiz .
In commemoration with the rest of the nation a quiz competition for MBBS students was held under the aegis of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine with support of TAPSM- North East State Chapter was also held later.


Dr .Ganesh Shanmugasundaram Anusuya was the state co-ordinator for “World Health Day Quiz” and assistant professor , department of Community Medicine, Dr . Jurimoni Gogoi, Nodal Officer for NIMSR, Kohima for the quiz programme.


The winners of the competition were; Nenghoikim Khongsai, Yomei L Konyak, N Leai Shongdok.
Runners up; Thsaropila Sangtam, Menumeu T. Mero, Thungbeni A Jami.
