ENPO plea on ‘death threat’

Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) has appealed for immediate withdrawal of the “death threats” on the lives of chief minister Neiphiu Rio, Home minister Imkong L Imchen and State DGP J Chankija, earlier hurled by ‘GPRN/NSCN’ emissary Kughalu Mulatonu. Denouncing “such aversive practices and adoptions,” ENPO in a press statement issued by spokesman Toshi Wungtung and vice president Shilu Sangtam called for immediate withdrawal of the “statement issued by the concern authorities in true letter and spirit in the interest of peace and harmony.”
Expressing pain over the escalating violence, threats and intimidations in the State despite repeated appeals to all sections, organizations and groups, ENPO also reminded of the Summit Resolutions adopted on December 18, 2007, at Tuensang. ENPO further appealed for “non-confrontational methods and means towards all difference and opinions, and above all, through democratic and peaceful means.”
